Khater Sports: Partner in Sports Development in Africa
Engineer Yehia Radwan, the Managing
Director of Khater Sports, stated that based
on the strategic decision of the Board of
Directors of Khater Sports, headed by Dr.
Alaa Idris, and in line with the Egyptian
state's direction towards African markets,
and by the grace of God, the efforts of Khater
Sports over more than two years have been
crowned with the Ugandan government's
assignment of the construction of Aki-Bua
Stadium to the Egyptian consortium led by
the National Construction Company
(SAMCO), with the participation of Khater
Sports and Al-Raed Engineering
Consultancy.
The efforts and guidance of Ambassador
Mohamed Hamzawy had the greatest impact
in securing this project and confirming the
ability of Egyptian companies to compete
with Turkish and Chinese companies in
completing major projects.
The journey to open African markets began
with exploratory visits to Uganda, where a
series of meetings were held with political
and sports leaders and businessmen.
This was followed by a visit from the
Ugandan Minister of State for Sports to
Cairo in May 2023. These visits culminated
in an Egyptian consortium between
Khater Sports, the National Construction
Company (SAMCO), and Al-Raed
Engineering Consultancy. As a result, the
Egyptian consortium submitted an official
bid to construct the "Aki-Bua" Stadium in
November 2023.
In February 2024, the Egyptian
consortium was hosted by the Ugandan
President to assign the construction of the
"Aki-Bua" sports stadium.
In June 2024, a joint inspection committee
from the Ugandan Ministries of Sports and
Public Works visited Cairo at the
headquarters of Khater Sports and visited
some of the company's important
projects, such as the Olympic City project
and the Suez Canal Authority Stadium. As
a result, Khater Sports was approved as a
key partner for the construction of
specialized sports facilities for the entire
project due to its extensive experience in
the field, spanning thirty-seven years.
It is worth mentioning that Khater Sports is a pioneer in sports infrastructure in Egypt and
the Arab region. The company is distinguished by its extensive experience in designing,
constructing, and operating advanced sports facilities, including sports stadiums, multipurpose sports centers, Olympic stadiums, and landscaping in collaboration with global
partners.
Thanks to its distinguished team of engineers and technicians, Khater Sports successfully
completes its projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
This project represents a qualitative leap for the Egyptian construction industry in the field of
sports facilities, especially after Turkish and Chinese companies dominated this sector in
recent years. We look forward to more similar projects that enhance Egypt's position as a
regional power in the field of construction and building
